Start with Pet Palooza Organized by the Mosaic Daytona Lifestyle community events planner, Pet Palooza is an annual favorite of Mosaic residents. It’s held at Club Mosaic, which anchors the community’s jaw-dropping menu of resident amenities and is centrally located near Mosaic’s main entrance. Pet Palooza features a costumes contest, a pet food drive in support one of Mosaic’s neighbors, the nearby Halifax Humane Society, food-truck goodies and a DJ to spin tunes. Visit dog parks Mosaic residents have miles of sidewalks and walking paths that wind through the neighborhood, so exercise is always handy. But venturing out to Daytona Beach area dog parks is a good way for you and Fido to meet other pet parents and pups in your new hometown. The Volusia County parks, recreation and culture division offers four dog parks — each in a different area of the county, which adds to the exploration fun. Barkley Square Dog Park in Deland is 14 acres, with spaces for large and small dogs. Beck Ranch Park in Osteen is the largest of the four Volusia County dog parks at 25 acres. It also includes spaces for large and small dogs. Gemini Springs Dog Park in DeBary is 4.5 acres but packs plenty of amenities for large and small pups and their owners. Michael Crotty Bicentennial Park in Ormond by the Sea offers a four-acre dog park among its facilities, with spaces for large and small dogs. Speaking of the sea… Get those paws sandy While Daytona Beach is known as “the World’s Most Famous Beach,” Fido is permitted in only certain spots along its Atlantic coastline. The good news is there are designated dog beaches in nearby Flagler and Volusia Counties. Find Volusia County’s designated dog beaches from Rockefeller Drive to Mislay Road in Ormond Beach, at Lighthouse Point Park in Ponce Inlet, and at New Smyrna Dunes Dog Beach in New Smyrna Beach.
